This ivory comb, from Tomb A of the Poggione Necropolis in Castelnuovo Berardenga and dating to the late 7th - early 6th century BCE, is finely decorated with motifs of sphinxes and griffins on the handle. These symbolic details represent mythological figures of protection and power. Now displayed at the Museo Palazzo Corboli in Asciano, the comb testifies to the elegance and artistic refinement of Etruscan personal objects.
