Medusa's head

The marble Medusa, originally from the Fountain of the Torre della Mencia, stands out for its expressive intensity and perfection. Although it was long considered a work by an anonymous 16th-century sculptor, it is now believed to be an 19th-century copy of an original bronze sculpture that was still visible in 1842, as evidenced by an official document from that year.
