The Roman Sculptor's Studio by Amos Cassioli

Amos began this sketch in the final years of his life but was unable to complete it before his death in 1891. The work portrays a scene from the daily life of an artist in ancient Rome and recalls the style of Alma-Tadema: the sculptor is busy working while three young girls watch the model with smiles. Tools of the trade scattered on the ground, a block of marble, and other decorative items surround a large sarcophagus, adorned with bas-reliefs, which dominates the scene.
